Spin-Offs Press Release #1
JAMES DAVIS & DARRELL HUDSON:
Saving The Day!
Photo: Jacqueline Pino
The Spin-Offs opened their inaugural season last night with an impressive showing of 14 team members! (Nine men and five women). It was a beautiful Spring evening - perfect for softball! The game took place in the shadow of the Washington Monument within sight of the Lincoln Memorial.
The co-runners-up for "most valuable player" were JAMES DAVIS & DARRELL HUDSON, whose post-game heroics kept the Monument from toppling over on the departing players. (See attached photo.) Special thanks to photographer extraordinaire JACQUELINE PINO, who captured the action at great risk to her personal safety.
The award for most valuable player went to center fielder YVETTE JARDINE. Quick on her feet and a confident fielder, Yvette stopped a difficult grounder and fired it off to the infield to set up a double-play. Her competent fielding resulted in loud cheers from her teammates as well as one of the several innings in which the Spin-Offs dashed their opponents' efforts to score even a single run.
Finally, the player formerly known as DURRE ISASA announced that henceforth she will be known as "Bruiser" (a reference to the battle scar that she incurred through her brave and glorious actions on the field-of-play, during arecent intra-team scrimmage).
